Y2I 2013 Departure Day July 7, 2013

July 7, 2013

Boker Tov!  Good morning!

I awoke this morning filled with excitement and anticipation, and yes, even a few butterflies in my
stomach, in realization this day has arrived. The Y2I 2013 staff is as excited as I am to take your children on their adventure of a lifetime.

It is quite unbelievable to think our Y2I Adventure began more than 3,500 years ago when our ancestors Abraham and Sarah journeyed from their home to the Land of Israel. Since that
time, Jewish people the world over have accomplished what Y2I 2013 is about to do—go to Israel.

Our heartfelt thanks to philanthropist Robert Israel Lappin, whose vision and generosity created this
wonderful program.  And to the Jewish Federation of the North Shore (now CJP) and to more than 800 donors, I thank you on behalf of all Y2I 2013 teens and their families for joining Bob Lappin to make our adventure possible. We take all of you to Israel in our hearts!

A special thank you to the Lappin Foundation staff—Sharon Wyner, Susan Feinstein and Phyllis Osher—who work diligently behind the scenes for Y2I’s success.

Y2I 2013 is packed with fun and friends–twelve full days of discovery, exploration, and new
beginnings. Y2I is truly a priceless gift from our Jewish community.  How lucky are our children!

Parents, it is an honor and privilege to share this adventure with your children. I look forward to writing to you from Israel.  Stay tuned!

Until next time,

Debbie Coltin
