2016 Y2I Criteria

The Foundation warmly welcomes teens of interfaith families to Y2I. Approximately 40 percent of teens in 2015 Y2I were from interfaith families.


To qualify for 2016 Y2I, teen must:

  • Be Jewish, consider himself/herself Jewish, and be raised exclusively in the Jewish faith. If you need further clarification, contact Deborah Coltin, Executive Director of the Lappin Foundation, at 978-740-4428 or dcoltin@lappinfoundation.org.

 Out of respect for traditional Jewish beliefs, Messianic Jews do not qualify for the Y2I program.

  •  Be a sophomore or junior in high school as of September 1, 2015.
  •  Permanent resident in one of the 23 cities or towns of the Foundation’s service area or be a member of a temple in the Foundation’s service area:   Beverly, Boxford, Danvers, Essex, Georgetown, Gloucester, Hamilton, Ipswich, Lynn, Lynnfield, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Marblehead, Middleton, Nahant, Newburyport, Peabody, Rockport, Rowley, Salem, Saugus, Swampscott, Topsfield and Wenham
