Speech Writing and Public Speaking

Everyone will be involved in public speaking in some form at some point in their lives, whether in school or in the workplace.  Effective speech writing and public speaking skills can be learned, and when developed, they prove to be useful tools of effective leaders.

2014 Y2I Alumni and 2014 Alumni of other teen trips to Israel, who live on the North Shore, are invited to participate in a free, 8-hour certificate course: Speech Writing and Public Speaking.

Teens will learn the principles of public speaking and speech writing and will have the opportunity to write and deliver a speech.  The course will be taught by Salem State University faculty, and a certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the course.

Classes will be held at Salem State University on Mondays, 4:30-6:50 p.m. on the following dates:

  • September 29
  • October 6

Space is limited to 20 students. The course is free and is funded by the Lappin Foundation.
